From the Diary of a Young Fibromyalgia Warrior!

This blog is a tiny excerpt from tonight’s Journal entry, I am both devastated and thoughtful so decided to share this with you in a hope that it will help some of you be more grateful about what you have and others to be hopeful and positive of what they have lost.

When you Google the word ‘Fibromyalgia’, all it says on the very first page is that it’s a musculoskeletal disease, causes pain, sleep and cognitive disorders. It further tells you that there is no cure but it can be managed, it’s not a life threatening disease.

Although in reality, it couldn’t be any farther from truth;

Fibromyalgia is sadly way more than just musculoskeletal pain, sleep and Cognitive disorders per say! 😞

It’s basically your body functions collectively gone wrong, extreme non stop pain, fatigue and sleeplessness for your entire life. It causes more than 100 debilitating symptoms and can very much render a perfect seeming person bed ridden for their entire life. 😷

Lately, I have observed that for around half the duration of any month, I experience extreme pain flare-up of the order close to 9.5/10 caused due to hormonal changes triggered by menstrual cycles. So a week before the bleeding starts and a week after it’s over, I feel almost dead.

That’s something that men with Fibromyalgia don’t have to suffer from apparently, I wish today that I was a man and not a woman with Fibromyalgia. I wish I could get the entire set of ovaries, uterus and whatever the hell it constitutes in starting a menstrual period removed. 😓

I just wish I knew how to stop this cycle of pain and sufferings, no matter what I try I always end up feeling more miserable than earlier owing to the progressiveness of the disease.

“Things don’t go wrong and break your heart, so you can become bitter and give up. They happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you were intended to be.”
